La Blusa, opgericht in 1990 in Delft, heeft in het begin duidelijk zijn inspiratie gehaald uit de “swamp music” van Louisiana. Maar tegelijkertijd heeft de band ook geput uit andere stijlen, waardoor er een zeer apart bandgeluid werd gecreëerd.
Het repertoir van de band bestaat uit alles van wals via funky zydeco tot ballads en stevige cajun rock. Met een knipoog richting Mexico en verder kan de muziek ook als “Americana” worden omschreven. Een groot gedeelte van het repertoir bestaat uit eigen werk, maar voor een paar swingende covers draait de band ook zijn hand niet om. Live staat de band bekend om hun enthousiaste manier van spelen, waarmee ze een gretig publiek snel aan het dansen krijgen.

La Blusa , formed in 1990 in Delft (Holland), has clearly been strongly influenced by the swamp music of Louisiana, but at the same time, having drawn on other styles, has created a very unique sound.The band's repertoire consists of everything from waltzes to funky zydeco and from ballads to steady cajun rock.The songs are mainly original compositions although some traditionals, re-arranged by the band, still play an active role in their repertoire. On stage the band is well known for its enthousiastic approach to entertaining an audience eager to dance the night away.

Dankzij hun originele stijl binnen de cajun & zydeco scene, werd La Blusa al snel een gewilde band op veel blues & jazz festivals in Nederland, België. Duitaland en Frankrijk. Waarbij ook twee keer achter elkaar op het North Sea Jazz festival in Den Haag. De band is ook verscheidene keren live op de nederlandse radio en televisie geweest. Thanks to their original style on the Cajun & Zydeco scene La Blusa have remained a much sought after band, playing at many blues & jazz festivals in Holland, Belgium, Germany and France including two consecutive years at the North Sea Jazz festival in The Hague.The band has also made several live appearances on Dutch radio and television and has up till now released 4 CD's :
